filter aids
Our core competence in filtration lies in the treatment of liquids using diatomaceous earth and perlite. We are recognised as a reliable partner for all filtration-related matters across a wide range of industries. In addition, we cover all other application areas of precoat, micro-, and ultrafiltration, and can supply a complete package of filter aids, filter media, and filtration technology upon request.

activated carbon
Carefully selected raw materials are carbonised at around 250 °C to remove moisture and volatile components. Activation then takes place at 900 – 1000 °C under controlled addition of steam. This process creates a highly porous material with an enormous internal surface area. Under the scanning electron microscope, it reveals a sponge-like structure with pores down to molecular dimensions. This multitude of tiny pores within a small volume gives activated carbon its exceptional adsorption capacity: a single teaspoon contains a surface area equivalent to a football field – between 800 and 1600 m² per gram. Niederer Schneider AG supplies activated carbons from Jacobi Carbons, one of the world’s leading manufacturers. These high-quality products are used in air and water purification, industrial processes, and environmental protection – wherever maximum purity is required.

mobile filtration units
In many cases, activated carbon must be used in adsorption systems specifically designed for the intended application. Properly engineered systems ensure the safe and efficient use of the carbon and facilitate its removal and replacement once exhausted. Jacobi Carbons offers a complete range of fully developed modular systems that provide operational flexibility while reducing capital costs. These systems are available for rent or purchase.

Ion Exchange Resins
Jacobi Carbons' Resinex™ ion exchange resins are spherical beads with a very narrow particle size distribution. They are manufactured using advanced production methods and are subject to continuous quality control in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. Thanks to their high capacity, excellent mechanical stability, and low pressure drop, Resinex™ ion exchangers are suitable for all industrial and food-grade applications. They are used in a wide variety of processes. Applications: – Softening – Wastewater treatment – Decarbonisation – Electroplating – Demineralisation – Sugar juice purification – Catalysis – Drinking water treatment – Decolourisation

Flocculants
Kemira produces flocculants in liquid form as emulsions and in solid form as powder products. We offer linear polyacrylamides, copolymers, and terpolymers based on various cationic and anionic monomer types. Kemira’s production facilities are equipped to meet a broad range of physical and chemical specifications, enabling us to address even the most demanding challenges. Flocculants are used in virtually all industries and countless applications worldwide.

PHOSPAT
PHOSPAT® is a filter cartridge filled with a granulate – made from Phostake – that binds phosphate extremely quickly and reliably. This allows phosphate-contaminated water in swimming ponds, natural pools, lakes, fish and koi ponds, aquariums, fountains, and fish farming systems to be treated in an environmentally friendly way – without the use of chemicals. Perfect for crystal-clear swimming and ideal living conditions for your fish.
